Webinar on “Green and Digital Maritime Transport Corridor: Threats and Opportunities” Held at Bartın Vocational School

A webinar titled “Green and Digital Maritime Transport Corridor: Threats and Opportunities” was organized by the Specialization and Project Support Commission of Bartın University Bartın Vocational School. The event, which began with the opening speech of Lecturer İrem Bebek, brought together students and academic staff with an expert guest academic in the field of maritime management.

Held online via Microsoft Teams, the webinar comprehensively addressed the opportunities, risks, and sectoral impacts arising from green and digital maritime transport corridors. The invited speaker, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umur Bucak from Kocaeli University Faculty of Maritime, Department of Maritime Business Administration, evaluated the strategic importance of green transformation in ports, its positive effects on the sector and regional development, and the advantages of digitalization in operational processes. He also discussed in detail the potential driving forces of emerging green and digital transport corridors, as well as the possible threats and opportunities that may arise during this transformation process.

Organized by the Specialization and Project Support Commission of Bartın Vocational School, the webinar aimed to raise awareness about green and digital transportation practices, which are gaining increasing importance on a global scale. The event attracted strong participation from both academics and students.

The program concluded with a Q&A session, followed by the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umur Bucak by the Chair of the Specialization and Project Support Commission, Lecturer İrem Bebek.
