Within the scope of the “Vocational Schools Education Cooperation Protocol” signed between the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), the University Protocol Executive Board meeting held at Bartın University focused on concrete steps to ensure stronger integration of vocational education with the industry.

The meeting, chaired by Rector Ahmet Akkaya, was attended by the President of the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Halil Balık, the Director of Bartın Vocational School Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramazan Arslan, Vice Directors Dr. Perihan Karaköse and Lecturer Dr. Nazlı İlke Eken Türer. Held on February 10, 2026, in the Rectorate Meeting Hall, the meeting evaluated a roadmap aimed at more effectively integrating Bartın Vocational School programs with the field, systematizing practical training and internship processes, and supporting students’ employability.

Emphasizing that strengthening university–industry collaboration is not only an academic priority but also a key driver of regional development, Rector Ahmet Akkaya stated that this protocol—bringing together education and the world of production under a common goal—will enhance students’ employability and directly respond to the industry’s need for qualified technical personnel.

The meeting concluded with the planning of new projects that will support Bartın’s economic and industrial potential through education, along with mutual exchange of ideas and best wishes for the success of the process.
