Qualified Workforce Contribution from Bartın Vocational School to the Retail Sector

The Qualified Workforce Training Program of the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), which aims to train skilled personnel for the retail sector, has been successfully completed through the collaboration of İŞKUR and Bartın University Continuing Education Application and Research Center (BÜNSEM). During the theoretical training sessions held at the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the academic staff of Bartın Vocational School played a significant role.

Organized with the cooperation of Bartın Vocational School and BÜNSEM, and supported by İŞKUR, the Retail Sales Personnel (Sales Assistant) Training Program aims to train qualified workforce for the retail sector. Bartın Vocational School continues to contribute to regional development and meet the demand for skilled personnel in the business world through such collaborative training projects.

Prepared in accordance with National Occupational Standards, the program lasted a total of 750 hours, including 40 hours of theoretical training and 710 hours of workplace-based practical training. The academic staff of Bartın Vocational School actively contributed to the theoretical training sessions. Assistant Director Dr. Hasan Yavuz delivered courses on Commercial Mathematics, while Head of the Department of Marketing and Advertising, Dr. Cihangir Kasapoğlu, provided training on Fundamentals of Marketing and Retail, as well as Customer Service and Communication.

This program, carried out with the contributions of Bartın Vocational School’s expert academic staff, stands out as a concrete outcome of the collaboration between İŞKUR and our university. Through the program, trainees who will work in the retail sector had the opportunity to improve their professional knowledge, skills, and competencies.
