Lecturer İrem Bebek from the Department of Transportation Services participated as both a speaker and moderator in the talk titled “The Signature of Women in Maritime,” organized on March 5, 2026, at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University by the Faculty of Maritime’s Mavi Vira Maritime Community within the scope of International Women’s Day.

At the event, which featured graduates working in various areas of the maritime sector, speakers shared their career journeys, professional experiences, and the opportunities and challenges faced by women in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

The talk also addressed career planning, current developments in the sector, and recommendations for young maritime professionals. Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the speakers.

In her speech, Lecturer İrem Bebek evaluated her sectoral experience alongside her academic work, emphasizing the increasing visibility of women in the maritime industry.

The program concluded with a Q&A session, followed by the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the speakers and commemorative photographs.
