Meaningful 23 April Activity from Our Students

On the occasion of April 23, National Sovereignty and Children's Day, Bartın University Bartın Vocational School Public Relations and Publicity Program students signed an important social responsibility project in cooperation with Bartın Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services. The event, which was held under the title of "Let Children Always Smile", aimed to bring together the children residing in the Mika-Der Children's Homes Site and the public relations students and to give them an unforgettable feast day.

During the event, the children had pleasant moments with the clown show and felt the joy of the holiday with the colorful kites decorating the sky. While the sincere interaction between students and children was strengthened by the volleyball activity, finger painting and face painting workshops, where the little ones reflected their imaginations, witnessed vivid images. The gifts and balloons presented at the end of the program multiplied the happiness of the children.

The students of the Public Relations and Publicity Program, who actively participated in the project, stated that they aimed to increase the morale and motivation levels of orphaned children and to increase the sensitivity of the society towards individuals staying in child protection institutions with this meaningful activity. The students emphasized that the expression of joy on the faces of the children was the most valuable achievement for them.

Project advisor Asst. Prof. Dr. Özkan Avcı expressed his satisfaction with the students' acting with this exemplary sense of social responsibility and underlined the importance Bartın University attaches to such social benefit-oriented projects. Bartın Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services officials expressed their gratitude for this valuable cooperation.

While the "Let the Children Always Smile" project reflected the spirit of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day in the most sincere way, it took its place as a precious holiday memory in the memories of the children in the Mika-Der Children's Homes Site.
