Energy Resources Awareness Event, Little Paths-Safe Steps Project, and Effective Communication Skills Training Successfully Conducted.

Energy Resources Awareness Event for Middle School Students

Students from Bartın University's Vocational School Public Relations and Promotion program organized an awareness event about renewable and non-renewable energy sources at Bartın Borsa İstanbul Middle School. The activity, part of the social responsibility project titled "Pledge for Our Environmental Resources!", utilized gamified learning methods for the students.

Through interactive materials featuring "Renewable Energy" and "Non-Renewable Energy" themes, participants engaged in classifying environmental resources. The colorful handprint activity helped students internalize these concepts enjoyably.

This project aims to:

  • Enhance university students' social responsibility awareness

  • Build fundamental understanding of sustainability and conscious energy use among middle schoolers

  • Contribute to early-stage environmental consciousness development through pedagogical approaches

"Little Paths, Safe Steps" Project Educates Preschoolers About Traffic Safety

Bartın University Vocational School Public Relations students collaborated with Ağdacı Kindergarten on this significant social responsibility initiative. The "Little Paths, Safe Steps" project objectives include:

  • Raising awareness about traffic dangers

  • Developing self-protection skills

  • Fostering traffic safety consciousness

Using age-appropriate interactive games, role-playing activities, and educational materials, the university students created engaging learning experiences for the preschoolers.

Project advisor Asst. Prof. Dr. Özkan Avcı emphasized how such initiatives benefit both students' professional development and social awareness, thanking all participants and Ağdacı Kindergarten administration.

"Effective Communication Skills" Training for 75th Year Nursing Home Staff

On May 6, 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Özkan Avcı from Bartın Vocational School's Public Relations program conducted "Effective Communication Skills" training for staff at Bartın's 75th Year Nursing Home (under the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services).

The training covered:

✓ Clear verbal expression
✓ Body language usage
✓ Conflict management
✓ Stress coping mechanisms

Using interactive methods, Dr. Avcı provided practical solutions for communication challenges in caregiving environments, reinforcing concepts with real-world examples.
