A cooperation protocol was signed between Bartın University and Papirüs Ahşap, one of the well-established companies in the wood manufacturing sector, to expand internship opportunities for students of the Furniture and Decoration Program.

Prior to the signing ceremony, Papirüs Ahşap Manager Ömür Erman held a talk with Vocational School students at the Ağdacı Campus Conference Hall of our university, sharing his experiences in the sector. During the session held at 1:30 p.m., Erman discussed production processes, quality standards, and career opportunities in the furniture and decoration industry, while also answering students’ questions regarding professional life. Students showed great interest in the event, gaining the opportunity to observe the current dynamics of the sector firsthand.

Following the talk, the cooperation between Bartın University and Papirüs Ahşap was officially formalized through a signing ceremony held in the Senate Meeting Hall at Kutlubey Campus. The protocol aims to strengthen the internship processes of students in the Furniture and Decoration Program at Bartın Vocational School, provide them with practical experience in production environments, and reinforce their connections with the industry.

In his remarks regarding the signing ceremony, the Rector of Bartın University, Ahmet Akkaya, emphasized that the protocol represents an important career opportunity for students. Rector Akkaya stated:

“We are pleased to provide new internship opportunities for our students through the cooperation protocol signed between our university and Papirüs Ahşap. With this protocol, our students will gain professional experience and have the opportunity to make a strong start to their career journeys. I would like to thank the Papirüs Ahşap family for their contributions in bringing this meaningful collaboration to life, and I hope that our protocol will be beneficial for all parties involved.”

The talk and signing ceremony were attended by the Director of Bartın Vocational School, Prof. Dr. Ramazan Arslan; the Head of the Department of Materials and Materials Processing Technologies, Prof. Dr. Timuçin Bardak; the Director of the Organized Industrial Zone Vocational School, Dr. Kadir Kayahan; and faculty member Dr. Kıvanç Bakır.

Bartın University Bartın Vocational School continues to strengthen its practice-oriented education approach within the Furniture and Decoration Program through collaborations developed with industry stakeholders. It is believed that this protocol signed with Papirüs Ahşap will not only provide students with valuable field experience but also stand out as a model example of university–industry cooperation.
