Bartın Vocational School 2025 Academic Board Meeting Held

Bartın University Bartın Vocational School held its Academic Board Meeting to plan the 2025 academic year and evaluate the previous period. The meeting, attended by the academic staff, also featured important remarks from the Vice Rector, Yafes Yıldız.

During the meeting, strategic topics such as the role of vocational education in regional development, university–industry collaboration, and increasing students’ employment opportunities were discussed. The Academic Board Meeting began with the opening speech and comprehensive presentation by the Director of Bartın Vocational School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramazan Arslan. In his presentation, he shared detailed information on the educational activities carried out in the 2024–2025 academic year, the internal evaluation report on quality and accreditation, the achievement status of strategic plan targets and indicators, the efficiency of internship programs, and the employment rates of graduates.

One of the key agenda items of the meeting was the accreditation achievement of the vocational school. Following a rigorous evaluation by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Vocational Education (MEDEK), accreditation certificates were presented by Vice Rector Yafes Yıldız to the programs that successfully obtained accreditation:

  • Accounting and Tax Applications Program: accredited from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2029
  • Public Relations and Promotion Program: accredited from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2029
  • Computer Programming Program: accredited from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027


Updated curricula designed to train the qualified workforce needed by the region, along with projects planned for the upcoming period, were presented to the staff. Special thanks were extended to all academic and administrative personnel and department heads who contributed to this significant accreditation success.

Following the presentations and acknowledgments, Vice Rector Yafes Yıldız emphasized the critical role of vocational schools in the country’s economic and industrial development, stating:
“In line with our university’s quality-oriented growth vision, Bartın Vocational School holds a very valuable position. Here, we do not simply train ‘intermediate staff,’ but rather highly qualified individuals who are actively sought after by the industry. I would like to thank all our academic and administrative staff who continue to raise our standards with their dedicated efforts.”

In the final part of the meeting, questions from the academic staff were addressed. Participants had the opportunity to directly share their opinions, suggestions, and requests regarding the improvement of educational quality with Vice Rector Yafes Yıldız and the vocational school administration.
