



Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramazan Arslan Appointed as Director of Bartın Vocational School
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramazan Arslan, a faculty member of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at our university, has been appointed as the new Director of Bartın Vocational School. During the handover ceremony organized as part of the change in leadership, the former Director, Prof. Dr. Ayşe Genç Lermi, formally transferred her duties to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramazan Arslan.
In his speech at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramazan Arslan expressed his gratitude to the Rector of Bartın University, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya, for entrusting him with this role. He also extended his appreciation to Prof. Dr. Ayşe Genç Lermi for her contributions to the school during her term.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramazan Arslan completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Atatürk University. He earned his master’s degree in Economic Policy at the same university and completed his PhD in the field of Economic History at Cumhuriyet University. In 2009, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economic History at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Bartın University. He was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor on December 28, 2020.
Between 2009 and 2015, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arslan served as Vice Chair of the Department of Economics and as Assistant Director of the Institute of Social Sciences. From 2015 to 2025, he held positions including Chair of the Department of Economics, University Senate Member, and Vice Dean.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramazan Arslan's academic research primarily focuses on Ottoman and Turkish economic history, regional economics, employment, and social structure. He has authored numerous publications at both national and international levels.
